Get a Rod. If you don't have one, complete "Annabella’s Request" in Hernand to receive a free fishing rod. If you’re lucky, there’s a fishing rod near the quest’s fishing area.
Head over to the quest marker and cast your line then wait. Listen for three distinct splashes. This is the signal that a fish is ready to bite.
Don't reel immediately! Pull your stick/keys in the opposite direction of the fish's movement to tire it out.
Once the splashing stops and the fish is exhausted, reel it in quickly to secure your catch.
