Royler is widely considered the premier mount in Crimson Desert for explorers who value speed. Known for its "Consecutive Instant Acceleration" and its ability to sprint across water at Max Level, it is a "must-have" for any serious player.
Follow this step-by-step guide to locate and tame this legendary beast.
Step 1: Necessary Preparations
Taming Royler is an endurance test. Because it spawns in a freezing climate, you cannot go in unprepared:
• Ice Resistance: Wear gear with frost protection or consume Spicy Pepper Stew to negate the Frost Debuff.
• Stamina Management: Ensure your stamina bar is at least 60% upgraded, or bring Stamina Elixirs.
Step 2: Finding Royler’s Spawn Point
Royler is a rare spawn located in the Pailune region (Northern Mountains).
• Map Marker: Navigate to the small, frozen pond located directly beneath the letter "P" in the PAILUNE label on your world map.
• Identification: It is a pure-white horse. Unlike standard wild horses, a "Legendary Creature" notification will pop up on your UI when you are within 50 meters.
Step 3: The "Aerial" Mounting Strategy
While you can sneak up on Royler, the most reliable way to start the encounter is from the air:
1. Climb the rocky ridge overlooking the pond.
2. Use your Glider to soar over the herd.
3. Position yourself directly above Royler and press the Mount prompt while falling to land directly on its back. This prevents Royler from getting spooked and running away.
Step 4: Winning the Taming Mini-Game
Once mounted, the "Bucking Meter" will appear. To tame Royler effectively:
• The Pro Method: Do not just wiggle the analog stick. Instead, hold the camera steady behind the horse's tail.
• Balance: Keep your weight centered by pulling back on the movement stick while using your camera to follow the horse's erratic turns.
• Watch the Meter: The goal is to keep the icon in the yellow "sweet spot" until the horse tires out.
Step 5: Registration
The tame is not permanent until the horse is registered at a Stable.
• Nearest Stable: Head south to the Hernand Stable.
• Save Your Progress: Once registered, Royler will be bound to your character and can be summoned from any stable in Pywel.
